SPECIAL ENDORSEMENT United States Congressional District Six

Maurice Washington is our clear choice to take on entrenched Democrat Jim Clyburn in South Carolina’s Sixth Congressional District. As a Charleston native, former city council member, and longtime community and business leader, he has helped guide our region through booms and setbacks, and through hard conversations about growth, opportunity and public safety. That experience shapes his priorities:  creating real economic opportunity, improving education, expanding access to healthcare, and demanding that Washington, D.C. be held accountable for results rather than rhetoric. 

Drawing on his background as an insurance and financial advisor, Washington understands how taxes, regulations, and federal spending affect small businesses and working families here at home. He understands the Lowcountry because he has spent his life serving it, and that lived experience comes through in the way he talks about jobs, families, and our shared future. In a year when so much of politics feels performative, he offers something refreshingly practical:  a focus on what actually works for S.C.’s Sixth District.
